You can simply grow your hair by using some easy home remedies without having to consider chemically processed solutions or medical procedures. Here are 7 home remedies for hair growth.

• Onion Juice.

Onions contain sulphur and has anti-bacterial components that help your hair grow longer. Sulphur boosts the production of collagen tissue while at the same time keeping your scalp healthy as a result of the anti-bacterial component.

Use red onions and squeeze out some juice. Apply it on your scalp then let it rest for about 15-30 minutes. Rinse off with a mild shampoo which should cover the smell of onions. Repeat this process in the least 3 times a week until results are noticed.

• Egg Mask.

Eggs contain high concentration of protein essential for hair growth. In addition, sulphur, zinc, iron, selenium, phosphorus and iodine in less quantities that help grow and strengthen your hair.

Mix the egg with some honey until it forms a smooth paste. Apply the mixture on your hair and leave for about 20-30 minutes. Rinse with cool water then shampoo it. Make it a regular process.

• Coconut milk.

You must reduce hair breakage if your hair is to keep growing longer. Coconut milk contains proteins, iron, potassium and essential fats that will help prevent this.

Break the coconut and apply its milk on the scalp. Leave it rest overnight then rinse it off with cool water. Make it a frequent procedure as there are no possible side effects.

• Indian Gooseberry (amla).

Amla is known due its antioxidant properties and its richness in vitamin C and one of the best home remedies for hair growth. These help to promote hair growth and improves your hair pigmentation.

Purchase this fruit from the groceries and crush it. Use 2tsp of its powder/juice and mix it with 2tsp of lime juice. Apply on your scalp and let it rest until it is dry. Rinse off with warm water.

• Garlic.

Garlic reduces shedding of hair and boosts regeneration of new hair due to its high levels of allicin and a sulphur compound similar to that in red onions.

Extract its juice and apply it on your scalp. For better results you can mix the garlic juice with coconut or olive oil. Repeat this procedure at least thrice a week.

• Potato juice.

Potatoes help in the growth of hair as they contain antioxidant properties and it is also considered as one of the good home remedies for hair growth. The beta carotene is turned into vitamin A which helps protect and produce the necessary oils for a healthy scalp thus longer strong hair.

Extract some juice from a few potatoes either by boiling them or crashing them. Massage the juice onto your scalp and hair and let it rest for about half an hour. Rinse off with some warm water. Make this a frequent procedure for best results.

• Consider a Diet for Hair Growth.

Other than the application remedies, boost your hair growth with some dietary modifications. This is a daily aspect and does not require any procedures to achieve your objective. In your diet, include some of the following as they contain Phyto-nutrients which are beneficial for hair growth. Eating healthy and avoiding processed foods and junk also keeps your scalp and hair healthy.
– Protein rich foods e.g. eggs, chicken, soybeans, milk, fish. The hair contains a protein (keratin) which when boosted promotes hair growth while at the same time making it smooth and shiny.
